Energy Audit
ENERGY AUDITAn Energy Audit is the process of undertaking a detailed inspection, survey, measurement and analysis of energy flow of a built environment. Results from the audit are then used to determine the present practice, Significant Energy Users (SEUs), critical operating parameters and energy quotient towards determining Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) opportunities at the audited facility or system without compromising the safety, efficiency and comfort of the built environment.
Our large arsenal comprising more than 100 Energy Audit tools and instruments enables for concurrent data logging of multiple SEUs within a facility, enabling for profiling and analysis of up to 20 energy flow profiles within the same environment in a single sitting. Our multi-disciplinary pool of professionals [suggest to place a hyperlink to our “people” or equivalent section] and systematic approach resulting from our 4 ISOs [suggest to place a hyperlink to the ISO section] enable for practical and implementable solutions to be offered to our Clients.
We offer 3 types of Energy Audits to cater for the varying level of detailing required by our Clients, all of which are in accordance to the international American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the local Malaysian Association of Energy Services Companies (MAESCO) guidelines:
Cofreth Energy Efficiency Programme ©
Cofreth Energy Efficiency ProgrammeIncorporating scientific approaches and development, energy audit & management is conducted to specifically measure and analyze energy consumption and implementation of Cofreth Energy Efficiency Programme (CEEP©). Combined with highly experienced and environmental conscious personnel, CEEP© is an extension of excellent energy management for optimizing operational efficiency and cost savings for our Client.
Energy Performance Contracting
Energy Performance ContractingCofreth Energy Performance Contracting (CoPC) is an innovative form of contracting, developed to overcome the major barriers to delivering cost-effective energy efficiency.
As an established energy services company (ESCO), Cofreth Energy Performance Contracting helps to improve the energy efficiency of a facility, guarantee energy savings, and reductionof greenhouse gases (GHG).

District Cooling System & Thermal Energy Storage
District Cooling System & Thermal Energy StorageDistrict Cooling System (DCS) is an outsourced solution that provides cooling energy to built environments that are strategically located within the region of a centralised cooling plant. The centralised cooling production distributes cooling energy in the form of chilled water through underground insulated pipeline to buildings within a district, operating 24 hours a day every day. Advantageously replacing conventional installation of individual chillers in each building, the district cooling can help building owners improve space utilisation and reduce electricity consumption through sharing of a centralised DCS.
Thermal Energy Storage (TES) is introduced for strategic load management by taking advantage of lower electricity tariff rates during off-peak hours. By producing and storing cooling energy during the off-peak hours and using it to supplement cooling needs during the day, peak cooling and electrical energy demand and installed capacity can be reduced.
Cofreth is a specialist in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) for District Cooling System in Malaysia. We are the FIRST in MALAYSIA to design and build a District Cooling Plant with Stratified Chilled Water Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system for Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) owned by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (Malaysia's Electricity Board) in 1996. This turnkey project includes Design, Supply, Construct, Installation, Testing and Commissioning, and Maintenance of the Air-Conditioning, Ventilation, Controls, BAS system and other building facilities with a total installed cooling capacity of 3,500RT (4 x 635RT, 2 x 500RT), 2 Chilled Water Storage Tanks of combined capacity of 26,000 RTh, cooling towers, pump sets, and reticulation piping of 4.5km connecting to more than 15 buildings.
The DCS and TES project can also be implemented through a Build, Operate & Own (BOO) and Build, Operate & Transfer (BOT) performance contract.
